So today was something of a "let's bake some comfort food" day. The theme I picked for this week's library books was cooking and baking, including the super cute How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World. I think we are going to have to buy it, because it's so darn amazing. We used the apple pie recipe in the back, and Claire had lots of fun... mind you, I have never made real pie or pie crust from scratch because I don't like it.
Let me just say, this was probably the best pie crust I've ever had, when I was sure it was going to be terrible. Maybe it's the turbinado sugar we sprinkled on top, but this might be changing my mind about pie crust.

Oh my, vaseline... evidently when I was 2 I smeared a whole jar of vaseline on my 9 month old baby sister and then continued to sprinkle baby powder all over her... my mother said she looked like a white ghost LOL and trying to get a slippery baby covered in vaseline to the bath and attempt to bathe her was a bit of a struggle. To make it worse, if it could be... it was easter and both my sister and I had already been dressed for church and my mom had only left the room for a moment to fix her hair! Your pie looks wonderful and I shall have to look up that book at the library :D p.s. sorry for the long comment LOL
Glad to see you back!

Oh I hear you! I have a 3.5 year old and a 4 month old and oh...time just slips by each day. I don't know where it goes. My 3.5 year old smeared the cats (!) with vick's vapor rub. That was fun. And smelly! But I am still laughing, thank goodness! Glad to see you back. I know how that blogging thing can take a back seat. My blog is poorly neglected right now. I can only do it in spurts.
Oh my. Our first baby is due at the end of October, and your funny tales sure make me laugh. But I confess they also scare me to death! Parenthood...here we come! :)
