extending the harvest

Trying hard not to check the Spoonflower contest vote-count every hour. It's a nail-biter. Distraction:

Cilantro: it seems people either love it or hate it. I love love love cilantro, but never really use coriander seeds. But that might all change now that I'm drying my own... my cilantro got leggy and flowered, so after harvesting what skinny leaves I could, I knew I should preserve the rest. The paper bag is for catching any leaves or seeds that fall during drying (just cut holes for air circulation).

I've done three bunches so far, and they smell heavenly drying in the pantry!

Nice to meet you Kate! I spent 6 or so years in southern Indiana (as southern as you can get and still be in Indiana), and now that we're further north I've been wanting to visit Oliver Winery for a day. Small world indeed! I love NYC and all the little boroughs.

Hey, nice to meet YOU! I love your blog. I confess that I've spent some time "lurking" but eventually I just couldn't resist the urge to leave a comment! I don't have a blog id, so pardon the "anonymity" designation. I always sign my comments. Thanks again for all you observe in life & so sweetly write about...Kate
p.s. take a picnic lunch to Oliver if you go!
